MicroAce was founded in 1693 in Tokyo. For almost 10 years, the company was engaged in plastic injection moulding as a subcontractor for Nitto, etc. In 1966, the company became a joint-stock company and was renamed "Arii Manufacturing Co.". Since then, the company has concentrated on the production of plastic models.

In the 1980s, the company entered the N scale model railway market, but later withdrew for some time. The company re-entered the model railway market with N gauge in 1996.

In 2004, the subsidiary Micro Ace Co. was founded. This continued the business and the parent company withdrew from it completely. Since then, the company has been producing and selling products for model railways.
