Block section module BM3
The BM3 is a block-building block that uses the ABC technique to decelerate and stop. With him a prototypical block-road operation is possible. The number of blocks is not limited as a BM3 is used for each block. The BM3 has a connection for light signals * for status display: signal red = follow-up block occupied, BM3 is switched to "stop", signal green = follow-up block free, BM3 is switched to "drive". The last block of a non-circular sequence of block sections requires instead of a BM3 a BM2, which either manually (signal, button) or automatically releases the last holding section.
* To drive signals with dual coils (or motors) the adapter BMA is required.

ABC: brakes, block sections, shuttle trains with digital plus
Digital plus ABC (AutomaticBrakingControl) technology, in conjunction with all current Digital plus locomotive decoders (as well as all older Digital plus locomotive decoders that support ABC, such as the GOLD and SILVER series), enables hardware-oriented train control. With little effort, ABC does exactly what model railroaders want: precise stopping in front of signals and passage in the opposite direction. Three brake modules are currently offered by the ABC technology:
BM1 realizes the stop before a signal
In addition to the stop function, BM2 also offers a slow-speed function
BM3 enables an automatic route block.
These assemblies affect track sections before the signal, whereby the decoder in the locomotive receives the information about the state of the signal, depending on the direction of travel.
How does ABC work?
ABC devices create track asymmetry, which is detected by ABC-enabled decoders and interpreted according to the individual settings made in the CVs, for example:
decelerate and stop, drive slowly, decelerate, stop and drive off after a defined waiting time in the opposite direction (commute).
The driving information on the track (speed, direction) is not changed by ABC, which is one of the reasons why locomotives with decoders that do not control ABC, just continue to drive normally and unchanged.

What else can ABC do?
While staying in the asymmetrical digital voltage section, the locomotive remains fully controllable:
Functions can be switched, programming during operation (PoM) is possible, the locomotive can move backwards away from the signal, maneuvering when the signal is closed is possible, there are no short circuits when crossing the separation points.

Lenz has been active in the field of model railways for over 30 years. Many of the technologies for model railway control that are taken for granted today are developments from the house of Lenz. The so-called DCC format for the digital control of model railways of all sizes is used worldwide and is thus the most widely used control system of all, declared a standard by the NMRA in 1993.

But even before the development of this digital control system, Lenz had already set milestones for the model railway enthusiast, for example with the "REPA Lok-Aus" and the legendary "Teichmann controller". Lenz is constantly working on making the occupation with model railways more interesting, more varied, but also easier: USP ensures uninterrupted data transmission into the decoder even when power is interrupted from the track, ABC ensures pinpoint stops in front of signals, RailCom delivers information from the locomotive back to the digital system.

Lenz's entry into 0 gauge has not only been well received by "veteran" zero gauge enthusiasts, but has also inspired numerous model railway enthusiasts to enter/with this great gauge. Lenz is continuously expanding its programme here as well, but still attaches great importance to the greatest possible faithfulness to the prototype, exceptional technology and high quality standards.
