The beginnings
Stefan Carstens (SC), together with co-authors, wrote the first freight car books in 1989. They were originally published by Tümmels Buchdruckerei und Verlag GmbH. In the mid-1990s, the printers discontinued the publishing program and the book series was also on the brink of collapse.
In 1996, Stefan Carstens then moved goods wagons in volume 3 himself – with MIBA as a sales partner. The following freight car books were then published by MIBA-Verlag, later by Verlagsgruppe Bahn (VGB).
A fresh start
After the sale of VGB, Stefan Carstens decided in 2021 to found his own publishing house: Eisenbahn Documentation Stefan Carstens.
Modellbahn Union was chosen as the main sales partner for sales.
With the volumes Güterwagen Volume 9.1 and 9.2 and the book Bahndienst- und Dienst Güterwagen Volume 1, 3 new publications have already appeared as of July 2023. In addition, the first brochures have been published exclusively for Modellbahn Union or are about to be published.
