Model: Z gauge. Kit. The construction of the town hall in Alsfeld was started in 1512. In 1883 the walled arcades were uncovered, in 1887/88 the towers on the front were added, in 1910/11 a general renovation was carried out and in 1967/68 the towers on the back were also reattached. After its complete restoration, the town hall is an outstanding example of monument preservation activity in Alsfeld, a measure of the citizens' love for their town and of the attitude of the governing bodies in the matter of preserving the old town. It is the unmistakable landmark of Alsfeld. The overall structure represents a very successful combination of stone architecture and wooden construction.
