The first Heki products were created in 1953, lovingly handcrafted from small pieces of wood. Then came the first tunnels made of cardboard and trees and firs for the model railway layout. In the meantime, many things have changed at Heki. Now plastic is used instead of wood and cardboard. However, manual work is still very much appreciated and implemented, as a machine cannot produce a tree completely on its own.
