Model: TT gauge. The BR 93 model takes into account all the specific features of the DR's prototype machine in Era IV. The Piko steam locomotive impresses with its successful mold construction, sharp engravings and numerous separately attached parts as well as excellent driving characteristics. The model comes with a suitable PSD XP sound decoder and has prototypical lighting and sound functions. The model has TT close couplings!

Prototype: In Prussia, people were always striving for rationalization, so in the late 1910s they resorted to tried and tested design principles for the construction of a new tender locomotive. Parts of the drive and running gear were taken from the tried and tested G8.1 with a few changes. The new locomotives were incorporated as the T14 series. A total of 457 examples were built for the Prussian State Railways. The Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine then also ordered 40 locomotives of this type. After the Second World War, the 93.0-4 class was scattered across Europe. After being freshly repaired, it was used again in divided Germany, Poland, Belgium and Austria. The DB used its machines until 1960, with the Limburg depot and the routes between Lahn, Dill and Sieg being its last refuge. The DR used them until 1971, where the locomotives were used primarily in and around Berlin, especially to pull freight trains.
