M.T.H. Electric Trains has been an established manufacturer from the USA for over 30 years. From a tiny one-man operation, M.T.H. has developed over time through numerous innovations into a leading American model railway company. The headquarters with its own large company building is located on the outskirts of Washington D.C.

Over the years, more than 15,000 items have been developed and produced in four sizes: 0, 1, H0 and Tinplate Standard. M.T.H. co-owns manufacturing facilities in the Far East that produce exclusively for M.T.H.. This gives better control over manufacturing processes and quality assurance than is the case with many other manufacturers whose products are produced in the same factories as those of their competitors.

M.T.H.'s research and development department has numerous patents, making its products unique in the market. Emphasis is placed on the highest quality in model replication and in digital sound effects and control options. They have developed their own digital system, the "Digital Command System" (DCS), which in the current version is also compatible with the European system DCC or with Motorola for H0 alternating current. This makes realistic railway operation with lots of model railway fun possible.

M.T.H. is also interesting for European model railway enthusiasts, as European locomotives and wagons are also available in H0 and 0 gauges, including the Bavarian express steam locomotive S 3/6 in 0 gauge, as well as the Swiss electric locomotive "Krokodil", electric locomotive "TRAXX", electric locomotive "Taurus" and many matching wagons. Also the steam locomotive BR 44, the "German Crocodile", the electric locomotive E 94 and the French steam locomotive Mikado. For H0 gauge, the steam locomotive S 3/6 is available. In addition, there are of course a variety of US models for friends of American railways.
