Role model: The EF210 Type 300 series is an electric locomotive that JR Freight put into operation in 2013. It was introduced with minor technical changes based on the conventional EF210 Type 100 series. It was originally intended to replace the EF67 electric locomotive as a successor on the Sanyo main line between Seno and Hachihonmatsu, which has a difficult steep gradient. Therefore, it is equipped with larger shock absorbers at both ends than the EF210 Type 100, which is the base, and the base frame has also been lengthened. It is also designed for use on other main routes and will expand its use to the Kanto region from 2022.
