To control the digital and sound functions, the model has a PSD XP sound decoder with the greatest possible speaker.

The model carries the quality mark Fits MFX®. In order to reliably use digital decoders for all users of the current Märklin digital center, a new quality mark Fits MFX® was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that go through a special MFX® test and have passed them in full. These decoders and also the locomotives in which they are installed carry the quality mark Fits MFX®, which certifies the unrestricted MFX® functionality. This means that Piko products with the Fits MFX® logo now also fully support the diverse functions of MFX®.
