Prototype: The G 1000 BB can be used for heavy shunting and light road service. It is approved in Germany, Italy, Luxembourg (CFL series 1100) and France. At SBB Cargo they have the series designation Am 842. Some locomotives were leased in 2006 from what was then Railion Deutschland (now DB Cargo Germany) in order to test their suitability as a possible successor to the 290/294 series. They were given the series number 261 for this purpose, but these numbers, which were kept in the books, were not written on the vehicles.
Mehano is a manufacturer from Slovenia and has been active in the toy and model railway sector since 1952. Since 2000, Mehano has also been producing models based on German and European models. Mehano became known for the Blue Tiger, G2000, Class 66, the Eurosprinter and various TGV multiple unit versions.
