Album Berlin Railways - Exciting 1980s.
144 pages, approx. 170 illustrations, format 22.5 x 27.1 cm, hardcover, authors: Michael Krolop, Konrad Koschinski.
Berlin's railway before the fall of the Wall - Experience the fascinating history of the Berlin railway. Immerse yourself in Berlin's transport history, in a time when the Deutsche Reichsbahn operated “in two worlds”. In East Berlin, the old flair merged with modernity, while in the West the BVG took over the S-Bahn trunk network in 1984. But the Deutsche Reichsbahn continued to be present in long-distance and freight transport, and numerous “private railways” served sidings in the west.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, an epochal change in transport began that changed Berlin's railway landscape forever. Our book pages are filled with unique insights and historical photographs that document this exciting time and the development of the Berlin railway.
Discover the history and changes that Berlin and its railways experienced during this important era. Varied photos, mostly in color, mostly unpublished so far. Meaningful chapter texts with lots of detailed information. Valuable contemporary documents from Berlin photographers from the then still divided city.
Book in German language.
