Installation recommendations:
In general, the recommendation is to install the loudspeakers far away from the engine in order to:
to avoid inadmissible heating of the loudspeakers and to protect the loudspeaker magnets from demagnetization by the sometimes very strong motor magnets (e.g. Roco).
Please note our installation recommendations for the loudspeaker LS1115 or LS1511:
One side of the speaker is the membrane (silver finish) surrounded by a clear plastic frame. Glue this side of the loudspeaker to a flat surface, using as little glue as possible so that it does not penetrate the interior of the loudspeaker. Do not use adhesive tape for this, as this would also hold the membrane in place. However, this must be able to vibrate freely so that the sound can occur.
The more (air)tight the connection between the loudspeaker and the base, the better the noise development.
The other side of the speaker is a magnetic metal lid surrounded by a black plastic frame. Solder the connecting wires to the two small metal flags.
When soldering, weigh down the loudspeaker with a heavy object (pliers or a roller of soldering tin) so that it is not pulled by the magnetic forces on the soldering iron and destroyed.
