Prototype: On July 17, 1965, the first W50 truck rolled off the production line in Ludwigsfelde. The modular system familiar from the W50 was also adopted for the L60. This allowed various body variants to be combined with a basic chassis. The bodies familiar from the W50, such as the three-way tipper, two-way tipper, or heavy-duty chipper body, could also be used on the L60 chassis with a 3200 mm wheelbase. The fertilizer spreader body was one of the interchangeable bodies that could be used seasonally. In addition to their use in agriculture, the spreader bodies were also used for winter service with minor modifications.
