Fulgurex brings this series of the EST and SNCF versions as a limited small series. These locomotives have never been mass-produced by any manufacturer. Fulgurex tried to find a corresponding machine from this important locomotive from every era and region. The production includes a total of 170 machines. The locomotives are already equipped with the ESU V5.0 digital decoder and have various functions. Each machine is built exclusively by hand and, as is usual with Fulgurex, it is an exceptional collector's item that can of course also be operated on the system. The precision motor and gearbox are also located in the locomotive (no tender drive), the model has an opening smoke chamber door with its interior, opening doors and flaps and lighting that works depending on the region complete the exclusivity of this model.
Prototype: The "Ten-wheel" Series 11 were constructed by various companies for the EST company between 1901 and 1912. The companies involved were Maffei in Munich (no 3501 - 3520), Schneider & Cie. in Creusot (no 3521 - 3550 and 3611 - 3625 and 3641- 3680 and 3811 à 3830), Ateliers d'Epernay (no 3551 - 3610), Société alsacienne mécanique in Belfort (no 3626 - 3640 and no 3791 - 3810), Socié té Franco-Belge (no 3681 - 3710 and no 3851 - 3870), Henschel à Kassel (no 3711 - 3740), Hartmann in Chemnitz (no 3740 - 3770), Société de construction des Batignolles (no 3771 - 3790), Fives-Lille (no 3831 - 3850) and in 1912 the company Société Blanc Misseron (no 3871 - 3890). These machines, not too small but not too big either, are designed typically for the French rail network and fulfill the tasks of an all-round locomotive.
The machines were taken over by the SNCF and registered with the numbers 1-230 B no 501 - 890. In 1951, 15 locomotives were assigned to the NORD region and renumbered to SNCF 2-230 B no 722 - 785, but these locomotives were assigned back to the EST in November 1958. Some machines were modified with large smoke deflectors, mainly for large express or local trains.
The first model produced was a steam locomotive 141 R in H0 gauge. In the following years, Fulgurex brought further models in gauges 0; 1 and N onto the market.
Fulgurex has always been known for its finely detailed handcrafted locomotives.
