In Kamen Modellbahn Union and our shop are at home. This has led us to develop the station of Kamen as a model.
The station building is a prime example of the standard buildings of the Cologne-Minden railway. The Kamen train station comes from the time Cologne-Minden and was inaugurated on 15.5.1847. The reception building was completed in 1854 and expanded in 1906 by a vestibule. In the construction of the Cologne-Minden railroad, the operationally necessary facilities had first priority. Therefore, many reception buildings were completed later or replaced by final buildings. The monopoly monopoly built after the beginning of coal mining in the 1870s for the coal or material transport a connecting line to the Cologne-Minden railway.
The influence of the school of Karl Friedrich Schinkel is recognizable in the classical style of the building. It is a prime example of the smaller station buildings of the Cologne-Minden railway of this time. The station building consists of a two-storey center section with seven window axes on the track side, with the openings complete round arch. At the front sides connect smaller wings. Toward the station forecourt the middle three window axes emerge as a gabled risalit. The whole building is provided with a square plaster and has the typical flat-inclined saddle roof. The reception building in Kamen is next to the one in Minden, the only largely preserved original building from the time of the Cologne-Minden railway. Today, the station is served by regional trains of the DB, Eurobahn and the RXX and traversed by long-distance trains and freight trains on the Dortmund-Hamm route.

Modellbahn Union was founded in 1999 under the name JapanModelRailways. The focus was initially on importing railway models from Japan.
Over the years, the range has been expanded to include model making items such as aircraft and military model construction as well as model railways from other countries.
Model railways Union is the exclusive importer in Europe for the companies Microace and Modemo from Japan, Dapol from Great Britain and Os.kar from Italy.
Another focus today is the production of our own model railways and laser-cut kits as well as the ordering and sale of exclusive models from well-known manufacturers such as Liliput, Rivarossi, Arnold and Dapol. Information about the range can be found at info.modellbahnunion.com.

You can only get the Modellbahn Union models directly from us.
