Equipped with folding container holders with recess. The model comes with pins in a bag for easy attachment of the containers. However, please note that the 20-foot containers do not fit flush when using the pins. We therefore recommend leaving the holders with recess in place and fixing the containers.
Alternatively, the containers can be placed individually on the recess in the central area, so that the freight wagon runs with one container. When using the freight wagons with containers during operation, we recommend additional fixing. Use, for example, TickyWax (Deluxe AD29) or double-sided adhesive tape to ensure safe operation.
The freight wagons are factory-fitted with flanges. The fastening pins are included in sufficient quantity in the bag.
Please note that the contents of the bags are not add-on parts, but only spare or replacement parts.
The freight wagons are also equipped with NEM coupler pockets, close-coupling mechanisms, standard loop couplers and metal-bearing axles. The base plate is made of metal to increase the vehicle weight.
We optionally offer AC wheelsets for conversion.
Prototype: From 1998 to 2000, the Zwickau and Leipzig-Engelsdorf works converted almost all remaining Hbils/Hbis-ww 297 wagons as well as 500 Hbils/Hbis-ww 299 wagons into container carrier wagons. On these 1,722 Lgs 580 wagons produced in total, the underframe was reinforced, especially the solebars, and prepared for the installation of the Z-AK automatic coupler. In addition, they received a new steel floor, rope anchor brackets and 16 folding container spigots for one to two ISO containers of 20, 30 or 40 feet. On the wagons converted from Hbis 299, the brake systems were also supplemented with automatic load changeover devices, and in some cases also with parking brakes. The wagons remain almost fully in service today.
