The second volume follows on from Freight Car 9.1 and includes all chemical tank wagons that have been procured and converted since 1950. In Freight Car 9.2 we present the wagons built in West Germany on behalf of wagon rental companies and converted on old underframes.
This is followed by the wagons procured by the chemical companies themselves - also new builds and conversions - the DR wagons and finally the last conversions of two-axle chemical tank wagons at the end of the 20th century and their use until today.

Stefan Carstens (SC), together with co-authors, wrote the first freight car books in 1989. They were originally published by Tümmels Buchdruckerei und Verlag GmbH. In the mid-1990s, the printers discontinued the publishing program and the book series was also on the brink of collapse. In 1996, Stefan Carstens then moved goods wagons in volume 3 himself – with MIBA as a sales partner. The following freight car books were then published by MIBA-Verlag, later by Verlagsgruppe Bahn (VGB). After the sale of VGB, Stefan Carstens decided in 2021 to found his own publishing house: Eisenbahn Documentation Stefan Carstens. Modellbahn Union was chosen as the main sales partner for sales. With the volumes Güterwagen Volume 9.1 and 9.2 and the book Bahndienst- und Dienst Güterwagen Volume 1, 3 new publications have already appeared as of July 2023. In addition, the first brochures have been published exclusively for Modellbahn Union or are about to be published.
