Model: HO gauge AC. With mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound and light functions. Controlled high-efficiency propulsion with flywheel mass. All 3 driving wheels powered. Traction tyres. The triple headlights change over with the direction of travel and 1 white marker light (Swiss light changeover) will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The lighting can be switched to 1 red marker light for solo running. The signal for the right to drive can be switched digitally separately. The headlights on locomotive side 2 and 1 can be switched off separately in digital operation. Double A light function. Additional cab lighting and engine room lighting can each be controlled separately in digital operation. Maintenance-free warm white and red LEDs are used for the lighting. Highly detailed metal construction with many separately applied details, such as cooling tubes for the transformer oil. Reproduction of the driver's cab and engine room. Detailed roof equipment with roof lines, insulators, and roof running boards as well as scissor pantographs. Minimum passable radius 360 mm. Brake hoses and imitation screw couplings are included.
Prototype: Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) class Ae 3/6 I electric locomotive. Locomotive from the eighth construction lot. Fir green basic paint scheme with grey running gear. The locomotive has rod buffers, end transition plates, and 4 side cab doors. False running signal above the respective upper lamp. Locomotive for use in front of light express trains in the lowlands on the route Geneva-Berne-Zurich. Locomotive road number 10703. State of running in the early 1950s.
In 2009 Märklin celebrated its 150th anniversary. However, from an initially quite wide range of toys, the product range concentrated over time on the manufacture of electric railways in different gauges. The excellent quality of the products made the name Märklin synonymous with model railways worldwide. Even today, the material metal is an essential element in the manufacture of locomotives, which thereby gain additional value in addition to their proverbial reliability and performance.
Märklin H0: The majority of Märklin products are manufactured in this gauge on a scale of 1:87. Due to the high operational reliability of the Märklin H0 three-wire alternating current system, Märklin has contributed to making this gauge the most widely used in the world. All Märklin H0 locomotives have been digitally controllable as standard since 2000.
Märklin Z-gauge: Model railway enthusiasts do not only opt for Z-gauge on a scale of 1:220 when space is limited. In Europe Märklin is the only large-scale manufacturer of Z-gauge, which appeals not only to passionate layout builders but also to collectors.
