Model: HO gauge DC. The SNCF 2-piece EAD XBD 4717 diesel railcar and XRABx 8714 sidecar impresses with its authentic silver-blue paint scheme bearing the legendary "Casquette" logo. The model, manufactured by Jouef in 1:87 scale, is a perfect replica of era IV-V. With its realistic close-coupling kinematics, the diesel railcar can be easily combined with other models. The interior features detailed interior furnishings that reflect the excellent craftsmanship. Another highlight are the head lights and tail lights that change to white and red depending on the direction of travel. This feature ensures a realistic representation of the model and increases the fun of playing.
Founded in 1944, Jouef was an independent manufacturer of toy and model trains in the French Jura until 1972. The company was later taken over by the Lima Group. The Lima Group decided to continue production in Italy.
In October 2004, the English model railway company Hornby bought Lima and thus took over the brand rights and moulds of Jouef. Since 2006, articles under the Jouef name have been available in the shops again.
