Model: Two-wire DC digital sound. With digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Regulated high-performance drive with flywheel in the boiler. 3 axles driven. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender largely made of metal. Equipped for smoke set 7226. Three-way peak signal changing depending on the direction of travel and retrofittable smoke set conventionally in operation, digitally switchable. Driver's cab lighting additionally digitally switchable. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white light-emitting diodes (LED). Close coupling with kinematics between locomotive and tender. On the tender kinematic guided close coupling with NEM shaft. Trafficable minimum radius 360 mm. Piston rod tubes and brake hoses are included. Length over buffer 28.2 cm.
Prototype: Express train steam locomotive class 01.5 with oil tender. Reko version of the German Reichsbahn of the GDR (DR / GDR). With Boxpok wheels, single tender 2'2'T34 as oil tender. Witte smoke deflectors in a special design for BR 01.5, continuous dome trim and one-sided Indusi. Road number 01 0503-1. Operating state in the mid-1970s.
"World level" in the model: Even before the reunification, the most successful modification of the class 01 was on the rails in East and West at home. The series 01.5 of the DR ran until the 1970s as a welcome guest before Interzonenzügen and symbolized in their dynamic elegance indeed the much cited, but almost never reached "world level" of the GDR. Specifically, the "American", exactly modeled in the model Boxpokräder owned this quite a significant share.
01.5 with boxpok wheels At the beginning of the 1960s, a total of 35 machines of the class 01 were subjected to extensive reconstruction by the German Reichsbahn of the GDR. Initially, only the installation of a welded Reko boiler was envisaged, the state of preservation of the selected locomotives finally forced to far-reaching conversions, which made the machines in many parts new vehicles. The Rekokessel supplied the Raw Halberstadt, they were installed in the Raw Meiningen. During the conversion, the boiler was raised higher, the boiler apex was adorned with a continuous dome cladding, the cabs were replaced by new ones in welding execution. The converted locomotives had little in common with their original appearance, so the machines were run after the conversion under the new model number 01.5. From 01 519 (rebuilt in 1964) the locomotives received oil main firing, the remaining machines were retrofitted accordingly in 1965/66, only six machines kept the grate firing. Twelve examples (01 502-504, 507-513, 517 and 518) were temporarily equipped with Boxpok wheels, which were replaced by reinforced spoke wheels until 1976 at the latest. The 01 504 drove initially with a Giesl flat injector, also had all the machines after the conversion a conical smoke chamber door without central closure. With the introduction of EDP numbers, the coal-fired machines became the 01.15 series, the oil-fired ones the DR as 01.05. After their conversion, the locomotives were used in the heavy express train traffic of the DR of Berlin-Ostbahnhof (rust-fired locomotives) and the Bw Wittenberge and Erfurt from and reached the West German turning points Bebra and Hamburg-Altona planned until the 1970s in interzonal traffic. Finally ended in 1982 in the Saale valley, the career of this most successful design of the 01 series. A total of five machines of the series 01.5 remained intact and make - as far as operational - even after reunification the rails in the east and west uncertain.
