Model: H0 gauge DC. Special model "Mistral 69" passenger coach set by Hornby Jouef in limited edition exclusively for Modellbahn Union. Set with 1 compartment car, 1 generator car, 1 bar car & 1 dining car.
The carriages have a multicolored interior, prototypical, slightly greenish tinted windows, spring-loaded rubber bulge transitions, numerous attachments as well as close coupling backdrops, NEM coupler sockets and train route signs from the TEE Paris - Ruhr (car with original destination number).
The set is delivered in an exclusive packaging in the TEE design.
Prototype: The Trans-Europ-Express trains have always been the figureheads of European state railroads. The TEE Paris - Ruhr from Paris via Liège and Cologne to Dortmund was no exception. Initially operated with the luxurious VT 11.5, from June 1, 1969 the trains were based on electric traction and the then brand new TEE cars of the type "Mistral 69". Something like this had never been seen before: Restaurant, bar and comfortable armchairs in the most modern decor, created by the famous designer Paul Arzens, air conditioning, large windows with motorized blinds, semi-automatic doors and much more. The SNCF has developed new CC 40100 series four-system locomotives for these car sets. Locomotives of the Belgian series SNCB 16 and SNCB 18 were also on display. Between Liège and Cologne/Dortmund, German four-system locomotives of the 184 series were occasionally used in front of these cars.
