Model: HO gauge DC. 4-piece set electric multiple unit series 401 (ICE 1), consisting of 2 powered end cars (one of which is powered) and 2 intermediate cars in white/red paintwork. Completely new construction, powered end cars and intermediate cars exactly on a scale of 1:87, short coupling drawbars can be exchanged with working Scharfenberg couplings (not included), powerful five-pole motor with flywheel masses, fine pantographs, mostly made of metal, high beam can be switched on in digital mode, driver's cabs and intermediate cars with interior fittings. Prepared for the installation of a square loudspeaker (15 x 11 mm) without soldering. Minimum radius: 356.5 mm.

Prototype: In 1992, the age of ICE regular service began with the summer timetable at DB. With a maximum speed of 280 km/h and 9600 kW continuous output, they were already among the stars on the rails back then. Soon the elegant trains between Hamburg and Stuttgart/Munich and between Cologne and Berlin were commonplace.

Later they also ran as far as Vienna or Zurich/Interlaken, whereby for the latter destinations they were equipped with additional current pickups on the power cars according to Swiss regulations and also with the Swiss safety systems.

After 1998, the appearance changed slightly, but the red tone of the decorative stripe was changed from oriental red to traffic red and the pastel violet stripe was dropped.

Today, some of these trains are running with green decorative stripes on the power car. After almost 30 years of service, the trains now have several million kilometers "on the clock" - but according to current plans, these trains will still be in service after 2030.
Variations of this product
With its foundation in 1946, "Lima" became the independent manufacturer of toy and model railways for gauges 0, 00, H0 and N in Italy.

Due to the high number of employees of approx. 1200 people, 20,000m of rails, 7,000 locomotives, 28,000 wagons and annually 8,000,000 vehicles could be produced. This was accompanied by the introduction of the brand name "Lima Nova" for higher quality models in 1989. Three years after the introduction of the brand name, the manufacturer was taken over by the company "Rivarossi".

Since 2004, Lima and Rivarossi have been part of the "Hornby Group". From 2006, former Lima models and new designs were marketed by Hornby. Marketing under the Lima brand name was discontinued in 2015. However, the models have since been marketed under the Rivarossi brand name.
