Modellbahn Union Gauge HO Exclusive model. The model is based on the well-known Brekina model and has been fitted with a new drive and expanded to include a digital interface, sound preparation and lighting functions.

Version: Schi-Stra-Bus BS300 Era VI, number plate BO-DB 293H, route Koblenz-Dierdorf-Altenkirchen-Betzdorf

Model: Gauge HO AC Digital. Equipped with a motor, Digital decoder DCC/MM, metal chassis, power consumption across all axles, drive on one axle of the rear bogie, interior lighting (switchable in digital operation), factory-installed loudspeaker (only active when equipped with a sound decoder). The BS300 from Modellbahn Union has white headlights at the front and red rear lights at the rear, which can be switched in digital mode. In addition, the model has red taillights at the front and white reversing lights at the rear, which only work and can be switched in digital mode.
The model is fully printed and equipped with all the details. A sheet of decals with train route signs, number plates and addresses for optional redesign is included.

We use a decoder from Doehler & Hass or a Zimo decoder for the sound version. The sound version comes with sound recorded and created exclusively for Modellbahn Union and additional noises.

We only recommend these manufacturers for the BS300 model when digitizing it yourself. If you want to digitize the model yourself, please also note the operating instructions for the model, which you can find in the Download tab, and the information contained there about retrofitting with digital decoders .

Prototype: Current version from the Bochum Dahlhausen Railway Museum. The BS300 was designed in 1951 as a two-way vehicle or rail-road bus and put into service with the Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1953. The vehicles were manufactured by Nordwestdeutscher Fahrzeugbau NWF, were equipped with a Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz diesel engine and had an output of 120 hp.
For rail service, bogies were slid under both sides of the bus at certain stations so that it could be "jacked up" to run on DB routes. The rubber-tired rear axle of the bus provided the drive.
The BS300 reached a speed of 80 km/h on the road and 120 km/h on the rails. There were 43 seats and up to 24 standing places.
A lack of flexibility in use, since the capacities could not be adjusted to an increasing number of passengers, and the need to travel to certain stations to change from road to rail soon caused DB's interest to dwindle. The last use on the rails was in May 1967 on the Koblenz-Betzdorf route. As pure road vehicles, the buses were in use for even longer.

Modellbahn Union was founded in 1999 under the name JapanModelRailways. The focus was initially on importing railway models from Japan.
Over the years, the range has been expanded to include model making items such as aircraft and military model construction as well as model railways from other countries.
Model railways Union is the exclusive importer in Europe for the companies Microace and Modemo from Japan, Dapol from Great Britain and Os.kar from Italy.
Another focus today is the production of our own model railways and laser-cut kits as well as the ordering and sale of exclusive models from well-known manufacturers such as Liliput, Rivarossi, Arnold and Dapol. Information about the range can be found at info.modellbahnunion.com.

You can only get the Modellbahn Union models directly from us.
