Prototype: A total of only 10 locomotives of the approximately 133-ton tank locomotive were built for use on the so-called Höllentalbahn. The class 85 locomotives were the heaviest tank locomotives used in Germany. Due to their pulling power, the beefy-looking tank locomotives quickly proved their worth on the mountain route. The photographic paint is a special paint that was applied by the locomotive factories to special locomotive examples in order to achieve a better representation in photos at the time. This consisted of washable (lime) paint and was only applied for the purpose of photographic work.
