The models are handcrafted from brass, are equipped with a high-quality precision motor and of course digital DCC with an ESU decoder. Each model corresponds to the respective epoch and is a unique piece in itself. The series is limited to a total of 170 machines.
Prototype: In 1914, the SBB commissioned the SLM (Swiss Locomotive Factory in Winterthur) to build a heavy 4/4 coupled shunting locomotive; 8 machines were finally built up to 1915. The no 8801-02 were wet steam and the no 8851-56 superheated steam locomotives. As early as late 1914, these locomotives were distributed to larger goods and marshalling yards and assigned to the respective depots. The locomotives were actually only intended for shunting purposes, but were sometimes used for passenger transport up to 240 tons or freight transport up to 400 tons where there was a shortage. The machines were considered to be very robust and accordingly remained in operation for a long time, the last ones up to the mid-1960s.
The first model produced was a steam locomotive 141 R in H0 gauge. In the following years, Fulgurex brought further models in gauges 0; 1 and N onto the market.
Fulgurex has always been known for its finely detailed handcrafted locomotives.
