Prototype: In 1991, the Swiss Federal Railways purchased twelve first-class panoramic cars of the Apm61Pano type, which are suitable for a speed of 200 km/h and are used on the SBB's regular EuroCity trains. Since 2017, these cars have been used in a special train - the Gotthard Panorama Express. In addition to several first and second class large-capacity cars, the train also carries three panoramic cars. The GoPEx starts in Flüelen and goes over the world-famous and historic Gotthard route towards Ticino.

LS Models was born in 1992 from the observation of the poverty of the Belgian model market: searching through the many catalogues, Daniel Piron noticed that most of the big brands had neglected the realisation of many Belgian variants based on their models. Thanks to the documentation and the many archives that L.S. Models had, they took up the challenge of partially filling these gaps. They owe their experience in this field to Jouef, who made it possible to produce Belgian versions of grain wagons, flat wagons Res type, car transporter type DDm or of restaurant wagons CIWL. In 1998, the first steps towards the realisation of own products were prepared. All models are based on documentation combining photographs of the original and the plans of the railway companies.
