New type! Currently, Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the independently developed new Sprinter. In addition to many technical refinements, the new model also comes with a facelift on the body. The new Sprinter will soon be released by Herpa in ultramarine blue and as a minikit in white.
Wilhelm Hergenröther founded the company in Nuremberg in 1949. The company name is composed of the name Hergenröther Patent. Initially, the company produced model railway accessories. In 1961, Riwa-Plastik, a plastic parts manufacturer for the photo and phono industry, was founded.
In 1965, Herpa was taken over by this company. Both brand names continue to be used. The first 1/87th scale car model was presented at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. Two years later, the first truck model in the same scale followed. Over the years, the magazine "MASS:STAB" is published. Since then, six copies have been published annually.
