Model: HO gauge DC. Three Mistral 69 TEE carriages of the Le Mistral Paris - Marseille / Nice express train. The set contains 1 x baggage car with generator A4Dtux, restaurant Vru and high-capacity car A8tu.

Prototype: The "Le Mistral" express train, named after the cold north-west wind that blows through the Rhne Valley to the Mediterranean Sea, has been a very important connection between Paris and Marseille since 1950 and was extended to Nice in 1952. In 1965 the connection to the Trans Europ Express was raised and in 1969 the "new Mistral" was introduced, with the latest evolution of purpose-built long-distance stainless steel carriages (the so-called Mistral 69) with various types with compartments (A8u), Open Space (A8tu ), Restaurant (Vru), Bar (Arux) and Baggage Cart/Generator (A4Dtux). The train composition leaving Paris included two sections, one limited to Marseille and the other towards Nice, with a total of 14 cars, which were reinforced with other cars as needed. Normally the locomotive used to power it was a CC6500, often with the "MISTRAL" badge on the front. The TEE Mistral was used in this composition until the introduction of the TGV Paris-Lyon in 1981.

Founded in 1944, Jouef was an independent manufacturer of toy and model trains in the French Jura until 1972. The company was later taken over by the Lima Group. The Lima Group decided to continue production in Italy.

In October 2004, the English model railway company Hornby bought Lima and thus took over the brand rights and moulds of Jouef. Since 2006, articles under the Jouef name have been available in the shops again.
