LokSound 5 Nano empty decoder
With the LokSound 5 Nano DCC, ESU has succeeded in developing yet another significantly smaller LokSound decoder: At only 19.6 mm x 8.5 mm x 3.2 mm, it is the smallest LokSound decoder we have ever built. Thus, it should really find its use in all vehicles of the nominal sizes N and TT. The LokSound 5 Nano DCC decoder is a pure DCC decoder with open wire ends for free wiring and comes with an 11 x 15 mm "sugar cube" speaker along with a sound capsule kit.
The LokPilot 5 Nano is a "thoroughbred" DCC decoder. 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2 and 4 digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be triggered. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders log on to a suitable digital command station fully automatically.
It handles all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom® the CV values on the main track can be read out with suitable command stations. For centers that can only program the CVs from 1-255 exist auxiliary registers.
The LokPilot 5 Nano decoder recognizes Märklin® braking tracks as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with DC voltage is also possible. In addition, it also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train automatic allows automatic shuttling between two stations. Although this decoder of course has no motor output, this is also important with a function decoder to be able to synchronize control car and motor car.
The LokPilot 5 Nano decoder can be used on analog DC railroads.
The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly". For the most part, nothing needs to be set.
Functions
The LokPilot 5 Nano has been equipped with an astonishing number of function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 Fx DCC decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs with 250mA output current each. The versions with PluX22 or 21MTC interface add 4 outputs for controlling servos or logic level outputs. All important light functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately.
Interaction
The LokPilot 5 Nano is designed to interact with the LokSound 5 and LokPilot 5 decoders: For example, it is possible to equip the locomotive of a multiple unit with a LokSound 5 decoder and the cab car with a LokPilot 5 Fx DCC. Assuming the same address, both behave absolutely identically. The identical arrangement of the CVs facilitates the tuning of the two decoders.
Operational safety
If desired, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 Nano for bridging dirty rail sections.
Protection
Of course, the outputs are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.

ESU has existed for over 25 years and is only known to most model railroaders because of its innovative digital technology (decoder and system control), but since 2012 also because of suitable, innovative and realistic implementations of locomotives, passenger cars and freight cars. The digital center ECoS, LokPilot 5, LokSound 5 and the Nano decoders are the distance horses in the ESU range. Modellbahn Union also cooperates very closely with ESU and has already had exclusive sound models implemented for its own products as well as remaining stock. At the same time, further exclusive models in the rolling area are sought, as well as close cooperation in the implementation of Modellbahn Union's own products.
