Modellbahn Union railcar MAN HO

MAN rail bus - the prototype

The rail bus was built by MAN between 1956 and 1969 and delivered to various private railways. It was available in one- and two-engine versions with MAN diesel engines from its own production. Depending on the version, the railbuses had 66-70 seats and an engine power of 150-200 hp. The vehicles were used individually or in double and triple traction. Some companies also used the model to pull freight cars. A total of 60 vehicles were built.

Solid and durable

Multiple changes of ownership resulted in a large number of color and paint variants. Thanks to its use by the Karsdorfer Eisenbahn, the MAN rail bus was even honored with the DB logo, after the Deutsche Bundesbahn had never used it at first. The area of application extended across Germany, currently there are still several rail buses in regular museum use.

We currently have the following models of the MAN rail bus in stock or can be pre-ordered:

The MAN railbus in H0 gauge by Modellbahn Union

The model is equipped with a motor, flywheel, 18-pin digital interface, light change (individually switchable in digital operation), driver's cab lighting (switchable in digital operation), interior lighting, interior fittings, loudspeakers, NEM coupler mounts, removable bow couplers. The model is only available for DC trains.

It can get loud

For the typical background noise of a diesel-powered rail bus, we had Zimo create a sound exclusively for our model. This can be easily ordered for each model and is then installed at the factory.
