Model: HO gauge DC. Scale model of an EHG 388 auxiliary equipment car of the DB. Bracket coupling in standard slot guided by linkage. Minimum drivable radius = 360 mm.
Prototype: Auxiliary vehicles that deploy in the event of accidents such as derailments and carry tools and materials with them, at DB consisted of a wide variety of old wagons until the end of the 1950s. For the purpose of standardization, the DB developed a standard auxiliary equipment car in cooperation with the Minden Federal Railway Central Office. The basis were the car bodies of two MCi 43 makeshift passenger cars, which were placed on two American-style four-axle bogies. A total of 100 cars were built between 1962 and 1966. From 1969 onwards, the slatted walls were often replaced by hardboard. The cars have been listed as EHG 388 since Era IV. The majority of the cars remained virtually unchanged from the outside, apart from the change in paintwork.
